Program in Health Care Administration - Felician College - Overview
Programs of Study
The Division of Business and Management Science exemplifies Felician College's commitment to high-quality programs and academic excellence. With a unique and entrepreneurial spirit -- it is innovative, dynamic, and highly responsive to the needs of students, corporations, and the workforce. This spirit supports Felician's reputation as a leader in New Jersey business education. The Division of Business is pleased to introduce a strong and forward-reaching Master of Science in Healthcare Administration degree program.
The Master of Science in Healthcare Administration combines business acumen with a solid base in healthcare administration and management skills, preparing graduates to fill the growing need for healthcare professionals and administrators at all levels. The program explores the changing demands of a global healthcare system and includes courses in health policy, ethics, financial management, and healthcare resource allocation.
The students enter the 39-credit program as part of cohort learning teams. Each team completes 1 evening course every eight weeks. Courses are delivered by a diverse panel of faculty experts that includes both Felician professors and experienced practitioners from within the business and healthcare fields. Students also complete unique executive residencies with mentors at mid-to executive-management levels within the healthcare field. The program is delivered in a blended approach, combining online coursework with in-person faculty member interaction to maximize flexibility and support.
Research Facilities
The College Library is a 2-story building that serves the needs of students, faculty and staff members, and alumni with more than 110,000 books and over 800 periodical subscriptions. This collection is enhanced by large holdings of materials in microform, which can be used on the library's reader/printer equipment. With its computers linked to information services such as Dialog and OCLC, and as a member of the New Jersey Library Network and VALE, the library locates and obtains information, journal articles, and books not available in its collection from sources all over the country. Computerized databases can also be accessed directly by users through the online FirstSearch workstation, where up-to-date information on 40 million books and an index of 15,000 periodicals is available.
The library is also connected to the Internet and has several CD-ROM workstations. Through EBSCOhost, Bell & Howell's ProQuest, CINAHL, and other services, students, as well as faculty and staff members, have access to numerous online journal indexes--as well as articles from thousands of periodicals--from anywhere on the campus computer network or from their home computers. An experienced staff of professional librarians is available to assist users.
The college's computer facilities include an academic and administrative network, 4 computerized labs, a computerized learning center, and 2 computer centers that are available for students, with a total of about 200 computers available for student/faculty member use. All classrooms, offices, and facilities are wired for Internet and e-mail.

Student Group
Felician College enrolls approximately 2,300 students. In the fall of 2010, there were approximately 350 students enrolled in graduate programs. As members of a close-knit community, business students participate in clubs and activities that build relationships and networks for the future. For example, Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) is an innovative group that helps students develop skills by learning and putting into proactive practice the principles of free enterprise. Working in teams, students undertake projects that use free market economic principles, entrepreneurial strategies and management skills to achieve stated objectives and goals. Felician's SIFE group recently placed second in competition with other such groups from colleges and universities around the country.
