Harvard University - Exposure, Epidemiology & Risk Program - Overview

The Exposure, Epidemiology, and Risk Program

The Exposure, Epidemiology, and Risk Program's educational philosophy is to prepare professionals to integrate knowledge across a variety of disciplines that will enable them to continue to acquire skills and understanding throughout their lives. Faculty members have defined the essential elements of a broad knowledge base representing environmental health sciences. While defining a set of core courses, we also provide opportunity for research, concentrated course work, practical experience or exploration in a number of related disciplines.

The offered program is an intensive one that encompasses over 80 course credits taught over the course of two years. The program will admit no more than 25 students per academic year in an effort to enroll outstanding students who will receive high quality training.

Graduates of the program will acquire skills that will prepare them for leadership positions in governmental and international organizations, in consulting, public ser ice, private industry, and research. They will be proficient in the full range of environmental health and public health protection practices and research. Finally, graduates will also be prepared for further studies leading to doctorate degrees at Harvard School of Public Health and at other institutions.
