Saybrook's Seattle-based LIOS M.A. degree programs are the most residentially-focused degrees, meeting periodically over long weekends. This process creates a close community of students and teachers that evaluates and strengthens itself and its members, both professionally and personally. It's a unique learning experience, unavailable anywhere else, that has been producing local, regional, and national leaders for over 40 years.

Saybrook's Seattle-based degree programs are:

- LIOS MA Psychology, Counseling Specialization -- a degree program focused on counseling and family therapy, preparing students for outstanding careers as licensed mental health counselors or therapists in Washington State and other areas.

- LIOS MA Organizational Systems, Leadership and Organization Development Specialization -- a degree program focused on the human side of organizational development, emphasizing systems theory and sustainability, preparing students for careers as managers, consultants, trainers, or executive coaches.

These 2-year programs are experiential learning at its best. The faculty-member-to-student ratio is kept deliberately low: 1:15 in the first year, 1:8 in the second. Modular course work takes students out of known contexts and relationships, while immersing students in an enriching and transformational education experience with a diverse student body.

Saybrook also offers two Seattle-based LIOS residential MA programs. These programs offer an experiential setting for studying human behavior that begins with self-examination and delves into the depths of how people relate to each other.

Faculty advising, counseling, and mentoring are the hallmarks of Saybrook's learning model. Whether students plan on working independently or with other students, they'll find Saybrook's faculty dedicated to rigorous intellectual discussion, to supporting their educational quest, and to helping them advance on their career path.

Beyond that, Saybrook is committed to helping students develop as a whole person - mind, body, and spirit - to achieve their full potential. This commitment grows from Saybrook's deep roots in a rich heritage of humanistic, existential, transpersonal, and phenomenological psychology. Key founders and early contributors to the Saybrook tradition include such innovative thinkers as Carl Rogers, Rollo May, Abraham Maslow, James Bugental, Charlotte Buhler, and Virginia Satir.
