Overview

The New Market-Centric MBA at The School of Business

The School of Business is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International, the global leader in business education accreditation standards, and recently earned a place on Princeton Review's list of "Best Business Schools". The new, innovative, and market-centric Master of Business Administration (MBA) program balances academic rigor, business theory, and practical market relevance. The newly redesigned MBA program accommodates students with diverse academic backgrounds and feature courses that reflect the realities of today's global marketplace. A cohort structure enables students to progress through the program with the same group of classmates, forging long-lasting personal and professional relationships.

Highlights of the MBA program include:

- Innovative 1.5-credit courses provide exposure to a broad spectrum of business areas.

-Executive speaker series that connects classroom education with professional experience.

- 7 to 10 day international study trip spotlighting political and cultural conditions in the global economy.

- Small classes taught by top-tier faculty members combine practical and theoretical expertise.

- Students can pursue up to 2 areas of concentration by completing an additional 6-12 credits of elective coursework.

The Master of Science in Accounting

The MS in Accounting program, accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), helps students develop strong, comprehensive functional and technical skills as well as a specialized, in-depth understanding of the complexities of current accounting and tax practice. Classroom learning is immediately transferrable to the job and also prepares students to sit for the New Jersey CPA examination.

Courses in the program begin in both the fall and spring semesters, but applications are processed throughout the year. Students are encouraged to apply well in advance of their targeted start dates to ensure there is time for comprehensive reviews of their credentials. Students must have undergraduate degrees or concentrations in accounting to be considered for this program.

Certificate Programs for Post-Masters Credit

In today's global economy, business practices change at the speed of light. At times, this breakneck pace can leave even the most seasoned professional feeling a bit behind the curve.

To keep students on top of their games, Montclair State University's post-MBA certificates offer opportunities to refresh crucial business skills and knowledge in a flexible and convenient program of study. Each certificate program allows a student to select 12 credits (semester hours) of elective courses from one of the following fields:

- Accounting

- Finance

- International Business

- Management

- Management Information Systems

- Marketing

By taking advanced elective courses available to current MBA students, new MBA students will be exposed to the most current trends and ideas in essential and emerging business areas. There are no application deadlines for the certificate program; they are reviewed continuously, generally taking a few weeks to process. Once admitted, student may start taking classes during the next available term.

Please note that, depending on students' fields of interest and academic background and experience, additional pre-matriculation coursework may be required, meaning students might have to take a more basic course or courses in their chosen areas of study in order to begin the certificate-level courses. Also, please keep in mind that per class enrollment is capped at 25 students, so the sooner interested students get started, the better!

Student visa holders are not eligible for the Post MBA Certificate programs, as they are part-time programs.

Admissions

The majority of Montclair State's graduate programs do not have specific deadlines.
