Overview

Master of Public Administration in Public and Nonprofit Management and Policy

The Master of Public Administration in Public and Nonprofit Management and Policy program (MPA-PNP) at NYU Wagner crosses traditional boundaries. Students learn a set of frameworks and analytics that will serve them in the many roles, organizations, and sectors their careers will span.

Master of Public Administration in Health Policy and Management

The Master of Public Administration in Health Policy and Management (MPA-HPM) crosses traditional boundaries, linking management, finance, policy, and providing students with the cutting-edge concepts and skills needed to shape the future of health policy and management. Students receive a set of tools and experiences that allow them to understand both the delivery of health care services and the broader social, cultural, and economic factors that influence health outcomes.

Master of Urban Planning

The Master of Urban Planning (MUP) program brings students into direct contact with the critical urban challenges of our time. Today's urban planners must balance development, community needs and social justice, provision of critical public services, sustainability and security. Housed within a school of public service, rather than a school of architecture, the MUP program uses the broader contexts of policy, management, and finance to prepare students with the critical thinking skills they need to succeed.

Executive Master of Public Administration

The Executive Master of Public Administration (EMPA) degree helps mid-career professionals prepare for the highest levels of public service leadership. Featuring a powerful professional network and a flexible curriculum, the Executive MPA program teaches advanced competency in leading organizations through change. Students work with faculty advisers to develop individual learning plans based on their unique leadership ambitions and skill-development goals.

Executive Master of Public Administration: Nurse Leaders

The Executive Master of Public Administration (EMPA) Nurse Leaders program combines the latest in advanced health care management research with opportunities for real world application in today's complex hospital and healthcare systems. The program may be completed part-time over 2 academic years and will provide the highest level of service possible to students as they continue their professional work concurrent with their studies.

PhD in Public Administration

Through theoretical and methodological training, NYU Wagner's doctoral students learn how to produce insights required for effective and equitable public and nonprofit programs and policies. NYU Wagner encourages students to study the questions that drive them, while providing the guidance necessary to have the greatest impact. Students have many opportunities to participate in research projects with individual faculty members or through the affiliated research centers, as well as opportunities to lead classes as teaching colleagues and instructors.
