Overview

Northeastern's School of Public Policy and Urban Affairs

Northeastern's School of Public Policy and Urban Affairs is committed to cross-disciplinary inquiry to train future and current leaders, policymakers, researchers, and citizens to better address critical public issues by combining rigorous research, analysis, and problem-solving.

The Policy School acts as a venue for public discourse and problem-solving and offers a suite of signature professional graduate and executive education programs to best enable this dialogue. These programs include the Master of Urban and Regional Policy program and the Graduate Certificate in Urban Studies program. Further, the Policy School is closely affiliated with two related graduate programs: the Master of Public Administration (MPA) program (in conjunction with the Department of Political Science), and the Master and PhD of Law, Policy, and Society program (in conjunction with the Law School).

Students in the Policy School may also work in partnership with Northeastern's School of Journalism to earn a Master of Journalism degree with a concentration in Public Policy.

Each program fosters interdisciplinary social science research on critical public policy issues and provides policy-relevant and professional training for tomorrow's leaders while energizing sustained community involvement through collaborations with local and regional institutions. Graduates go on to leadership roles in both the public and non-profit sectors.
