Overview

Learning to be a Creative Enterprise Leader

What does it take to be a great leader in the creative enterprises -- from music and performance to film and interactive arts? In an era where media platforms are converging, audiences are global, and profit models are changing at an incredible rate, leaders of creative enterprises must have well-developed skills to manage creative people, projects, and teams. A leader must also have connections across industries in order to source ideas, sell concepts, and promote a project.

The Master of Science in Leadership for Creative Enterprises degree program at Northwestern University trains students to lead and grow creative projects and organizations. Our one-year degree program combines rigorous coursework in management, finance, and marketing with internship experience in the arts and entertainment industry to help students build the management skills needed to be effective leaders in a variety of creative enterprises. The program will also help students to develop strong networks of industry contacts and launch successful creative careers. This is partly accomplished through activities such as our monthly speaker series with successful industry professionals, tours of creative enterprises and internship opportunities where students can practice their emerging management skills on real projects.

The Master of Science in Leadership for Creative Enterprises program is run by Northwestern University's School of Communication, which boasts one of the country's largest networks of alumni who hold leadership roles in the creative economy.
