Oregon State offers more than 80 graduate programs in fields including engineering, forestry, oceanography, agriculture, life sciences, liberal arts, health and human sciences, environmental sciences, business, and education. Research at Oregon State

Oregon State University is Oregon's premier public research university, attracting nearly $281 million in research funding in 2012. Students and faculty members are actively pursuing research projects on a range of significant issues at the state, national, and international levels.

Research resources include 11 colleges, agricultural experiment stations and forest research laboratories located across the state, a marine science center, the world's largest tsunami research basin, and nearly 50 research centers and institutes.

Oregon State ranks among the top 100 universities in the U.S. in total research and development spending. The National Science Foundation ranks Oregon State 15th among all U.S. universities in R&D spending in the environmental sciences.

Oregon State's research has a significant impact on social issues such as disease prevention, the livability of rural communities, understanding and protecting the environment, boosting K-12 and community college education, and helping Oregon prepare for a population that is aging and becoming more ethnically and culturally diverse.

Corvallis and Oregon

Corvallis is also a hub for virtually unlimited recreation, with the Pacific Coast and the mountains of the Cascades Range nearby. Portland, Oregon's largest city, is just 90 minutes away.
