Overview

Jersey City Students Can Easily Reach the Cultural Resources of New York City by Train

The main campus of Saint Peter's College covers nearly 25 acres in Jersey City, the state's second largest city. Jersey City's location near the Hudson River allows students to reach the cultural, academic, and financial resources of New York City. Ferry cruises depart frequently from Jersey City to go to New York Harbor; students may take this excursion to see the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Saint Peter's College also encompasses an adult learner's campus in Englewood Cliffs located in Bergen County.

In addition to the advantages of its location, St. Peter's offers students small classes, attentive advisement, and career services. Students who attend this co-educational, liberal arts college in the backdrop of New York City can be prepared for leadership in a diverse, global society. The student body of the co-educational institution also exemplifies diversity, as students from throughout the U.S. and around the world attend Saint Peter's, where liberal arts is the foundation of academics.

Saint Peter's Graduate Programs Offer Specialization and Concentrations

The graduate programs at St. Peter's College are criminal justice, education, business administration, accountancy, and nursing, with concentrations in each field. Candidates for the Master of Business Administration learn to manage employees, assets, and technology within a global environment. The MBA courses build critical-thinking and decision-making capabilities.

The Master of Science in Accountancy is a program that allows students to meet the 150-hour requirement many states have to sit for the CPA exam and the Stand-alone Professional Services Credential that prepares graduates for careers in professional services, risk management, or compliance. With the Master of Science in Accountancy, new graduates can assist employers in solidifying financial reporting and risk management practices.

The goal of the Master of Art in Education is for teachers and administrators to continue professional development. Specialization within the Master of Arts in Education program includes educational leadership, reading, teaching, school counseling and special education.

The primary aim of the Doctor of Education (Ed. D.) with a concentration in Educational Leadership is to prepare current district and school administrators, educational leaders, and classroom teachers to take on district leadership roles in K through 12th grade settings.

Saint Peter's College is proud to offer the Master of Arts in Criminal Justice Administration. The program prepares professionals to ethically lead a diverse workforce within service-oriented governmental and non-profit organizations. The program provides an education at the graduate level that assists students in acquiring an understanding of theoretical and practical concepts, attainment of expert knowledge of the field as well as superior management skills necessary for strategic decision-making and leadership.

Saint Peter's offers Master of Science in Nursing students two options for specialization: adult nurse practitioner and case management with a functional concentration in nursing administration. The Master of Science in Nursing augments the knowledge gained with an undergraduate nursing degree. The program enables graduates to become adult nurse practitioners, nurse case managers, and administrators, as they develop into health care leaders who advance standards.

Saint Peter's College is proud to offer through its School of Nursing the first Doctoral Program at the Englewood Cliffs Campus. The Doctor of Nursing Practice is the highest degree for nurses engaged in advanced practice and those who wish to impact the quality and standards of care for those in need of or receiving services from the health care system.

Research Resources and Coursework Are Integral Aspects of Graduate Programs

Research is integrated into the various aspects of graduate education at St. Peter's College.

Research resources on the Jersey City campus include a Nursing Simulation Laboratory for careers in health care, plus computer labs, a campus library, and other facilities to support student learning and research. The graduate programs are well represented by faculty who are also published writers and conference presenters. The Office of Faculty Research assists the educators in gaining funds to support their specific research efforts.
