Saint Peter's College is one of twenty-eight Jesuit colleges and universities in the United States and the only one in New Jersey. The educational mission of the college is inspired by the 450-year-old tradition of Jesuit education first established by Saint Ignatius Loyola. The tradition is manifested through the College's strong core curriculum, through personal care for its students and each other, and in the nurturing in men and women of high intellect and spiritual freedom, the tools for a lifetime of discernment and service as "men and women with and for others."
Reflective of the College's commitment to diversity, Saint Peter's College is a federally designated Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI). Initially designated an HSI in 2000, in 2010-11 Saint Peter's was awarded its second Title V/HSI federal grant in ten years for up to $2,860,143 to expand and enhance academic offerings, program quality and institutional stability.
