The Perdue School of Business at Salisbury University

Salisbury University, a Maryland University of national distinction, offers a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree program through the Franklin P. Perdue School of Business. The Perdue School of Business is home to 4 departments: accounting and legal studies; economics and finance; information and decision science; and management and marketing. As a result, SU is able to offer an M.B.A. degree program that fosters the development of skills in each of these areas.

A Fast-Paced, Rigorous 1-year M.B.A. Degree Program with SAP Expertise

The Perdue School of Business offers a 1-year M.B.A. degree program with 7-week semesters. With AACSB International accreditation, the M.B.A. degree program at Salisbury University helps students improve the skills they need to work in a team-focused, technology-oriented, globally diverse work environment.

Experienced faculty members deliver courses through a hybrid format, holding face-to-face classes one night per week while relying on an innovative online system that integrates simulations, virtual environments, and cutting-edge technology.

SU also offers a part-time option that students can complete in 2 years.

Expertise in SAP and Innovative Technology

SU is a SAP University Alliance member and as such, enables M.B.A. degree program students to gain expertise in highly in-demand software skills. Students learn how this and other technology can be integrated into business processes and strategic planning to give their organizations a competitive edge.

Students complete courses in business intelligence software technology and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems that include supply chain management, sales and marketing, and corporate accounting and financials components. These courses also allow students to explore the integrated nature of business processes.

The M.B.A. Degree Program Faculty

The M.B.A. faculty are dedicated researchers and teachers. Dr. Stephen Adams, for example, received the Robert W. Smiley Jr. Economic History Fellowship from Rutgers University School of Management and Labor Relations. Dr. Adams has published widely on issues ranging from sustainable performance to the seeding of Silicon Valley. His current research interests include entrepreneurship, regional economic development, technology transfer, and business history.

Dr. Leonard Arvi has published on topics that include access to bank loans while in bankruptcy, rate of return and information asymmetry, and the impact of investor sentiment on stock price. Online publications such as Yahoo Finance and interviewed Dr. Arvi on issues such as how banks are changing and the popularity of credit unions.

Dr. Kirsten Passyn has published in the field of Internet commerce, researching online verses store shopping and intellectual property theft tolerance. She has also published her research on the regional M.B.A. and the distinct needs and wants of these programs.

The M.B.A. Degree Program Curriculum

The M.B.A. degree program at Salisbury University is a 30-credit program. During the fall semester, students take courses in "Accounting Concepts and Applications;" "Enterprise Systems and Business Process Integration;" "Strategic Marketing Applications;" and "Business Economics." In winter, students complete marketing courses in "Analytical Customer Relationship Management/Business Intelligence." In the spring semester, students take "High-Performance Work Systems;" "Decision Making in the Supply Chain;" "Managerial Finance;" "Managing Strategically;" and "Project Consulting."

Admission to the SU M.B.A. Degree Program

Students with bachelor's degrees in fields ranging from art history to archaeology to accounting join the M.B.A. degree program at Salisbury University. The program does require that students have completed foundation coursework, such as microeconomics, statistics and other classes in math, economics, finance, accounting, marketing, and information systems.

Those admitted to the degree program have a minimum GMAT score of 400 points and a minimum GPA of 2.5, although this minimum does not guarantee admission.

The 4 + 1 M.B.A. Degree Program

Salisbury University also offers a 4 + 1 M.B.A. degree program, which allows non-business majors to complete the 8 foundational courses during the undergraduate years before spending a year on the fast-paced M.B.A. degree program. Students must meet enrollment requirements for the M.B.A. program.
