Program of Study

The Master of Business Administration in healthcare administration degree program at South University is designed to prepare students for a leadership role in the healthcare delivery system. The program is founded with the philosophy that healthcare leaders require strong business competencies and management skills to be successful. The delivery structure of the program gives students the ability to balance the rigors of work and home while pursuing their master's degree. Students can complete one or two courses each term, with each quarter lasting ten weeks.

The curriculum for the program is designed to prepare students with a sound foundation in business analysis and decision making, followed by a specialization in healthcare administration. This is achieved by combining courses in economics, decision making, behavioral sciences, and strategic environment with capstone courses specific to the healthcare field.

Research Facilities

Along with classrooms and offices, the campus includes a bookstore, student lounge, and career services center. The South University Library provides in-library and remote access to electronic databases so that students may retrieve periodicals in paper or electronic form. Internet access is available on all computers throughout the campus.

A wide range of financial aid options is available to students who qualify. The Columbia campus of South University offers access to federal and state aid, including grants, loans, and work-study programs. Eligible students may apply for veterans' educational benefits and are encouraged to investigate the availability of grants and scholarships through community resources. As a first step, students should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Students may apply electronically at or through the program. Applications should be submitted promptly to receive consideration for the maximum amount of aid.
