Overview

Tippie Full-time MBA Program

The Full-time MBA is an on-campus educational experience that produces successful graduates with employable specializations aligned with the needs and wants of today's employers. The average incoming student has between 2 and 5 years of full-time work experience.

The Tippie Full-time MBA offers five specializations across the areas of finance, marketing, and strategic innovation. Following their chosen academic paths, students begin their post-MBA jobs with a proven track record gained from using this expertise in no less than two real-world consulting projects, the first of which happens before their summer internship, boosting marketability for the students and increasing value for their employers. The program enrolls new students each August.

Tippie MBA for Professionals and Managers

The Tippie MBA for Professionals and Managers (MBA-PM) is tailored to employed professionals with at least two years of experience who want flexibility in location and course sequence. The MBA-PM offers a customized curriculum that enables focus in key areas for career enhancement. Evening and weekend courses take place in Cedar Rapids, Des Moines, and the Quad Cities. Timing is flexible, and the typical student completes the MBA-PM in 3 years while taking 5 courses per year. Career management is available to students during the last year of the program, and career workshops are offered throughout. New students can enroll in any semester.

Tippie Executive MBA

The Tippie Executive MBA program is a premier general management program for mid- to senior-level professionals with at least 10 years' experience. This intensive, 24-month program -- held on alternating Fridays and Saturdays in Iowa City -- integrates study teams, experienced classmates, and an international seminar to enhance leadership skills. The program enrolls new students each August.

Financial Awards

Merit-based financial awards are available to Full-time MBA students, and approximately 80% of students receive awards that include a graduate assistantship and scholarship. MBA-PM and Executive students are often employer sponsored, and student loans are typically available for admitted students if needed.

Career Management

The Full-time MBA program offers intensive career development services throughout the program, starting even before classes begin. Networking, mock interviews, ongoing and personalized career coaching, direct referrals between our career advisors and companies around the country, on-campus recruiting, and exposure at national career fairs are all part of the recipe for success. The MBA Career Services Team's active approach enables it to be engaged at a high level in the placement process. The team works hard to help students become job ready, and is committed to developing employer partnerships to support their job searches.

The Tippie team's approach is proven to work - over the past 5 years, an average of 91% of grads were employed within 3 months of graduation. Most secure employment outside eastern Iowa; see where Tippie MBA students are working now on our interactive map.

The MBA-PM program offers career management advising in the last year of the program. Career advising is available to Executive MBAs on demand. Both programs offer career workshops, such as resume reviewing and negotiating, throughout the program.
