Program Description

The Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) master's degree program at West Virginia University teaches students to re-align their communications, seeing things the way the consumer sees them -- as a constant flow of information from a variety of media. Graduates of the IMC program receive practical, customized degrees that are designed to equip them with the skills to emerge as leaders in the field.

One hallmark of the IMC program is its learn-it-today, use-it-tomorrow focus. Students are able to take the knowledge they gain in the classroom and immediately apply it to the challenges in their professional lives. IMC students also benefit from studying under a diverse faculty, including members ranging from marketing directors to academics to entrepreneurs, all of whom are recognized leaders in their fields. The Master of Science (M.S.) degree program in Integrated Marketing Communications requires 33 hours of coursework, completed in 11 three-credit courses. The program's academic year consists of 5 nine-week terms: Early Fall (Aug. - Oct.), Late Fall (Oct. - Dec.), Early Spring (Jan. - March), Late Spring (March - May) and Summer (May - July).

Most students take 1-2 courses per term, dedicating 12-15 hours of study per week to each course. Students can complete their degrees in 18 months.

The IMC program is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is offered by the WVU Reed College of Media.
