Ways You Can Help
Have faith in your child and encourage them to do the same. Believe it or not, this is the single most effective way to help them prepare. Admission officers realize that the average student isn't a seasoned interview pro!
Put the student first
Your child should answer the questions, even if their responses aren't as perfect as you might want them to be.
Stay in the background
Admission officers know how to talk to students. Don't let your own anxiety overwhelm your child.
Have fun
For your child, this is a major first step toward independence, at least on a small scale. Enjoy it!
Some schools call for a parent interview in addition to the student session. At that time, say everything that's on your mind! But when it's your child's turn, exercise restraint (even if it's difficult) and allow them to shine.
