
Dr. F. Douglas Boudinot received his bachelors degree in biology from Springfield College and his doctorate degree in pharmaceutics from the State University of New York at Buffalo. In 1986, he joined the faculty of the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy, where he currently holds the rank of Professor. Dr. Boudinot served as Head of the Department of Pharmaceutics from 1992 to 1998, and, following an administrative reorganization, as Head of the Department of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Sciences from 1998 to 1999. Dr. Boudinot assumed responsibilities as Associate Dean of the Graduate School in September 1999. He is also a member of the graduate faculty, the faculty of the Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Toxicology, and the faculty of Gerontology at the University of Georgia. His research efforts have resulted in more than 100 published research articles in the areas of pharmacokinetics, biopharmaceutics, and pharmacodynamics. Current research efforts are focused on preclinical pharmacokinetics in drug discovery, pharmacokinetics of antiviral and anticancer agents, and assessment of aging on drug disposition and response. He is a member of several journal editorial boards, and he serves as North American editor for Biopharmaceutics & Drug Disposition. He is a member of the Scientific Advisory Board for Pharmasset, Ltd. Dr. Boudinot has actively participated on a number of professional association committees, including service as a faculty adviser to the Graduate Research Association of Students in Pharmaceutics and as a member of the Graduate Education Committee for the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists.
