Description

Fellowship supports full-time researchers focusing on policy-relevant and contemporary issues having a comparative or transnational perspective. Applicants must submit proposals for research in the social sciences and related disciplines relevant to at least one of the program's three themes: (1) traditional and non-traditional approaches to security and diplomacy, (2) global and regional economic issues, and (3) social and cultural issues. Applicants who are not U.S. or Japanese citizens must demonstrate a serious, long-term affiliation with the academic community of either country.


Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be a graduate student
  • Must attend a university or a four-year college
  • Must study full-time
  • Must not be attending high school currently
  • Restricted to students studying Social Sciences, Humanities, or International Studies
