Description

Award to New Mexico residents studying in New Mexico to increase the number of physician assistants in areas of the state which have experienced shortages of health practitioners. Provides educational loans to students seeking certification/licensers in an eligible health field. As a condition of each loan, the student must declare intent to practice as a health professional in a designated shortage area. For every year of service, a portion of the loan will be forgiven.


Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be an undergraduate student
  • Must attend a university or a four-year college
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must not be attending high school currently
  • Restricted to residents of New Mexico
  • Restricted to students studying in New Mexico
  • Restricted to students studying Therapy/Rehabilitation, Nursing, Health and Medical Sciences, or Dental Health/Services
