Accademia Riaci

Accelerated One-Year/One-Semester Course in Florence

Academic Focus

Architecture, art, art conservation studies, art history, ceramics and pottery, commercial art, costume design, crafts, culinary arts, design and applied arts, drawing/painting, fashion design, fine/studio arts, graphic design/illustration, interior design, Italian language and literature, Italian studies, leather working, photography, textiles.

Sessions

Fall, spring, yearlong.

Venue

Headquartered in Florence, Italy. Field trips to Boboli Garden, Pitti Palace, ruins, museums, Gucci bag factory, ceramics village, textile factories; optional travel to Rome, Venice, a winery, the Mediterranean Sea at an extra cost.

Living Arrangements

Students live in locally rented apartments, program-owned apartments, host family homes, hotels. Quarters are shared with host institution students, students from other programs. Meals are taken on one's own, in residences, in restaurants.

Requirements

Minimum age 18; open to freshmen, sophomores, juniors, seniors, graduate students, adults; 2.7 GPA; 2 letters of recommendation; portfolio (if available); transcript; no foreign language proficiency required.
