Salisbury Summer School
Salisbury Summer School, founded in 1946, was the first in the United States to perfect the teaching of reading, writing, math, and study skills to about 100 boys and girls from grades 8–12, in a summer residential program in the beautiful Connecticut Berkshires. Our goal is to build self-confidence in our students as they see clear improvements in their study skills under the care and guidance of devoted teachers and advisers. A summer at Salisbury provides stimulating academic work in a structured environment, with outdoor activities that include recreational sports and weekend trips to movies, plays, and amusement parks. As one who has been associated with Salisbury Summer School for more than twenty years as a teacher and, more recently, as its director, I have great confidence in the continued success of this highly respected academic program.
