Edu-Culture International (ECI) is a nonprofit organization based in Berkeley, California,
that provides high-quality opportunities for high school students to travel, study abroad, and
become immersed in the language and culture of Spain, France, or Costa Rica. Our goal is to
provide the most culturally enriching, academically stimulating experiences as possible for U.S.
teenagers. We specialize in small-group language study (college credit available) and unique
immersion programs with hands-on activities that are designed to build confidence, leadership
skills, fluency in French or Spanish, and cross-cultural connections.
After a trip through Europe in 1869, Mark Twain wrote, "Travel is fatal to prejudice,
bigotry, and narrow-mindedness... Broad, wholesome, charitable views…cannot be acquired by
vegetating in one's little corner of the earth." We believe his words are more important
today than ever before.
