You’ve been tasked with completing a <\/span>research project<\/span><\/a> and are excited to get started. But after spending days struggling over where to begin, you\u2019re feeling overwhelmed and wondering how to get your research idea off the ground.

\n<\/span>To help provide insight and reveal how one university is helping its students create impactful and relevant research projects, we spoke with Mary Beth Curtin, Assistant Vice President for Strategic Research Initiatives in the Office for the Vice President for Research, at Binghamton University of New York.<\/span><\/p>\n

With 23 organized research centers, <\/span>Binghamton University<\/span><\/a>, State University of New York is renowned as one of the top public research universities in the U.S. for its facilities, partnerships, and research opportunities.<\/span><\/p>\n

The University\u2019s research directly supports the academic work of over 1,000 full-time faculty and 3,500 graduate students. Binghamton University is uniquely positioned to offer research opportunities across dozens of academic disciplines. Designated as an <\/span>RI institution<\/span><\/a> with \u201cvery high research activity,\u201d the campus attracts about $50 million in external research funding annually. \u201cBinghamton University maintains a mid-sized institution while simultaneously employing over 1,000 research faculty, which means nearly all graduate students are afforded opportunities to participate in funded research,\u201d Curtin said.<\/span><\/p>\n
