<\/b>September 15th kicked off Hispanic Heritage Month<\/a>, a time to celebrate and recognize the Latino community\u2019s heritage, history, and contributions of American citizens who migrated from Mexico, Spain, South and Central America, and the Caribbean. Introduced in June 1968 by Congressman George E. Brown, Hispanic Heritage month begins mid-September since it\u2019s the anniversary of independence for many Latin American countries including El Salvador, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Honduras.<\/span><\/p>\n

In recognition of Hispanic Heritage month, here are 10 scholarships designed specifically for Hispanic students to help fund your education.<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Hispanic Scholarship Fund<\/span>
    \n<\/span><\/a>To be eligible for this scholarship, students must be of Hispanic heritage; a U.S. citizen, permanent legal resident, or DACA; and plan to enroll full-time in an accredited, public or not-for-profit, four-year university, or graduate school in the U.S. <\/span>
    \n<\/span>Amount awarded: varies<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. National Association of Hispanic Nurses Scholarships<\/span>
    \n<\/span><\/a>These scholarships are awarded annually to active NAHN members enrolled in accredited LVN\/LPN, associate, diploma, baccalaureate, and graduate nursing programs. Scholarship recipients are a select group of Hispanic nursing students who demonstrate promise of professional contributions to the nursing profession and who have the potential to act as role models for other aspiring nursing students. Selection of recipients is based on many factors including need, current academic standing, course of study, and other factors.<\/span>
    \n<\/span>Amount awarded: varies<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Make the U Scholarship<\/span>
    \n<\/span><\/a>The Haz La U Program helps put Hispanic youth on the track to college by providing financial relief via educational grants totaling $100,000. Applicants must be a full-time undergraduate student attending a university.
    \nAmount awarded: $2,000+<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Dr. Juan Andrade, Jr. Scholarship<\/span>
    \n<\/span><\/a>Applicants must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment as full-time undergraduate students in an accredited four-year or two-year institution in the U.S. or U.S. territories, and demonstrate a verifiable need for financial support. At least one parent must be of Hispanic ancestry.<\/span>
    \n<\/span>Amount awarded: $500-$1,000<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. Healthline Stronger Scholarship Program<\/span>
    \n<\/span><\/a>Healthline is dedicating its annual scholarship funds to three outstanding students committed to breaking down barriers to health for the Black, Indigenous, and Hispanic\/Latinx communities. Applicants must be full-time or part-time students attending a university, a four-year college, or two-year college.<\/span>
    \n<\/span>Amount awarded: $7,000<\/span><\/li>\n
  6. Actuarial Diversity Scholarship<\/span>
    \n<\/span><\/a>This scholarship promotes diversity through an annual scholarship program for Black\/African American, Hispanic, Native North American, and Pacific Islander students. The scholarship award recognizes and encourages the academic achievements of full-time undergraduate students pursuing a degree that may lead to a career in mathematics or statistics.<\/span>
    \n<\/span>Amount awarded: $1,000 – $4,000<\/span><\/li>\n
  7. American Chemical Society Scholars Program<\/span>
    \n<\/span><\/a>This renewable scholarship will be awarded to underrepresented minority students majoring in a chemistry-related discipline or are intending to pursue a career in chemistry-related fields. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident and have a minimum 3.0 GPA.\u00a0 <\/span>
    \n<\/span>Amount awarded: $1,000 – $5,000<\/span><\/li>\n
  8. Chevron\/SWE Scholarship<\/span>
    \n<\/span><\/a>This scholarship was designed for women planning to attend a full-time ABET-accredited program in engineering, technology, or computing in the upcoming academic year and with preference to candidates enrolled in Hispanic-serving institutions and Historically Black Universities & Colleges. <\/span>
    \n<\/span>Amount awarded: $5,000<\/span><\/li>\n
  9. AIFS-HACU Scholarships<\/span>
    \n<\/span><\/a>Scholarships will be awarded to outstanding Hispanic students to study abroad with AIFS. Applicants must be full-time students attending HACU member schools. Students will receive scholarships of up to 50 percent of the full program fee and must meet all standard AIFS eligibility requirements.\u00a0 <\/span>

  10. National Organization of Professional Hispanic Natural Resources Conservation Service Employees Scholarship Program<\/span>
    \n<\/span><\/a>NOPHNRCSE awards academic scholarships to qualified students pursuing a degree in agriculture, natural resources, or natural resources conservation-related field of study at an accredited school of higher education. Applicants must be an undergraduate student attending a university.<\/span>
