Psychology serves as one of the most popular college majors in the U.S. today. From clinical psychologists to developmental psychologists to forensic psychologists, there is an ample variety of career opportunities for those holding a psychology degree<\/a>. Overall, the job outlook for those serving in the field of psychology is positive, with an annual median salary of $82,180 and an average growth rate of eight percent from 2020-2030, according to the <\/span>U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

We\u2019ve assessed the data and compiled a list of eight scholarships to help you fund your psychology degree:<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Malyon-Smith Scholarship Award<\/span>
    \n<\/span><\/a>The Malyon-Smith Scholarship annually awards up to $1,000 to selected graduate students in psychology to advance research on sexual orientation and gender identity (SOGI). The award represents one of the division’s major efforts to mentor and support science in LGBT psychology by encouraging the work of young researchers. Applicants must be full-time graduate students studying psychology.<\/span>
    \n<\/span>Amount awarded: $1,000<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Aya Healthcare Scholarship<\/span>
    \n<\/span><\/a>This scholarship awards $5,000 to a student with financial need. Eligible applicants must attend a university, have a 3.5 GPA, and be studying psychology, computer science\/data processing, economics, political science, or communications.<\/span>
    \n<\/span>Amount awarded: $5,000<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. NASP-ERT Minority Scholarship Program<\/span>
    \n<\/span><\/a>This scholarship awards $5,000 to full-time and part-time minority students enrolled in or accepted for enrollment in a graduate school psychology program that is NASP-approved.<\/span>
    \n<\/span>Amount awarded: $5,000<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. James F. Reville Scholarship<\/span>
    \n<\/span><\/a>This scholarship is presented to an individual who intends to pursue a career related to the field of intellectual or other developmental disabilities such as behavioral sciences, social work, nursing, healthcare administration and management or psychology. Eligible applicants must be a full-time undergraduate, a graduate, or a postgraduate student.
    \nAmount awarded: $3,000<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. Armed Forces Health Professions Scholarship Program-Army<\/span>
    \n<\/span><\/a>This scholarship was designed for students studying counseling\/clinical psychology, medical\/osteopathy, dental, veterinarian, qualifying specialty nurse, or optometry. Qualifying students can receive full tuition for any accredited medical, dental, veterinary, psychiatric nurse practitioner, psychology or optometry program, plus a generous monthly stipend of more than $2,400+. Other benefits include: (1) Full tuition (up to 4 years, depending on specialty), (2) Books, equipment, other fees, (3) $20,000 sign-on bonus, (4) Officer’s pay during school breaks, (5) Monthly allowance for food and housing, (6) Salary increases with promotions, time in service and cost-of-living adjustments. <\/span>
    \n<\/span>Amount awarded: $2,400<\/span><\/li>\n
  6. OnlinePsychologyDegrees.com Education Scholarships<\/span>
    \n<\/span><\/a>Whether you’re trying to get a new career off the ground or take your existing career to the next level, we’re thrilled that you’ve chosen a degree in psychology to get you where you want to go. Applicants must be an undergraduate, a graduate, or a postgraduate student studying psychology and attending a university, a four-year college, two-year college, or a vocational-tech school.<\/span>
    \n<\/span>Amount awarded: $1,000<\/span><\/li>\n
  7. TOPSS Competition for High School Psychology Students<\/span>
    \n<\/span><\/a>Students are invited to write an essay of no more than 3,000 words that addresses the topic of psychology in politics. Up to four students will receive $250 scholarships for their winning essays. The essay should describe the role and relevance of psychology in politics by referencing peer-reviewed research that may include, but is not limited to topics such as cognition, data exploration techniques, and social psychology. <\/span>
    \n<\/span>Amount awarded: $250<\/span><\/li>\n
  8. Serge Harrison Scholarship in Psychology<\/span>
    \n<\/span><\/a>This scholarship is open to new and current graduate students pursuing clinical or counseling psychology. Applicants must be a graduate student studying psychology and attending a university.<\/span>
