Environmental Science blends physical and biological sciences and provides an overview of how science affects our environment and planet. Careers in environmental science vary broadly and include oceanographers, microbiologists, horticulturists, ecologists, soil and plant scientists, and more.<\/span><\/p>\n

We compiled a list of 10 scholarships to help fund your environmental science education. Check them out and apply today!<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Mary T. Carothers Summer Environmental Studies Scholarship<\/span>
    \n<\/span><\/a>This scholarship provides financial assistance of $3,000 to one student annually for field work, research, or classroom work and is open to college undergraduates for summer study following the freshman, sophomore, or junior year. Eligibility is open to undergraduate students who are enrolled in a university, a four-year college, two-year college, or a vocational-tech school based in the U.S.<\/span>
    \n<\/span>Amount awarded: $3,000<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Elizabeth Gardner Norweb Summer Environmental Studies Scholarship<\/span>
    \n<\/span><\/a>This scholarship aims to encourage studies and careers in the environmental field, with the opportunity to gain knowledge and experience beyond the regular course of study. Applicants must be an undergraduate student attending a university or a four-year college studying environmental health\/environmental science.<\/span>
    \n<\/span>Amount awarded: $3,000<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Tocris Bioscience Scholarship<\/span>
    \n<\/span><\/a>Tocris proudly supports students who are pursuing a science-related field of study (life science, medical science, or health science). This scholarship awards a $1,500 scholarship twice a year for the fall and spring semesters and is open to students accepted\/enrolled in a college\/university\/institute within the U.S., Canada, and European countries.
    \n<\/span>Amount awarded: $1,500<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Blades of Green Scholarship Fund<\/span>
    \n<\/span><\/a>This merit-based scholarship fund will be awarded to individuals seeking undergraduate or graduate-level education in environmental studies or related fields. Applicants must attend a university or a four-year college full time.
    \n<\/span>Amount awarded: $1,000<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. Warren\/Sanders\/McNaughton Oceanographic Scholarship<\/span>
    \n<\/span><\/a>This award is designed for graduate or postgraduate students studying oceanography and related fields. Although good for one year of study, students may apply each year for its continued support. Applicants must attend a university full time in the U.S.<\/span>
    \n<\/span>Amount awarded: $1,000<\/span><\/li>\n
  6. LGBTQIA+ Scholarship<\/span>
    \n<\/span><\/a>This scholarship aims to support students who identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer and\/or questioning, intersex, or asexual, who are interested in pursuing a career in the environmental profession. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident enrolled at an accredited college\/university, with a declared major in civil, chemical, mechanical, electrical or environmental engineering or one of the environmental sciences. <\/span>
    \n<\/span>Amount awarded: $5,000<\/span><\/li>\n
  7. Eckenfelder Scholarship<\/span>
    \n<\/span><\/a>The Eckenfelder Scholarship aims to support students who are interested in pursuing a career in the environmental profession. Applicants must be enrolled at an accredited college\/university, and studying environmental sciences (e.g. geology, hydrogeology, ecology) or a related field. Two written recommendations, with at least one from a university official, are required.<\/span>
    \n<\/span>Amount awarded: $5,000<\/span><\/li>\n
  8. Claes Nobel Good Earth Sustainability Scholarship<\/span>
    \n<\/span><\/a>This scholarship is open to high school and college students, all levels, with a dedicated passion for conservation, sustainability, environmental policy, or preservation for the Earth.<\/span>
    \n<\/span>Amount awarded: $2,000<\/span><\/li>\n
  9. J. Fielding Reed Undergraduate Soil and Plant Sciences Scholarship<\/span>
    \n<\/span><\/a>This scholarship honors an outstanding undergraduate senior pursuing a career in soil or plant sciences. The nominee will be an undergraduate student member pursuing a career in the plant or soil sciences, and graduating sometime this calendar year. Applicants must be studying agriculture, entomology, earth science, environmental science, natural sciences, or natural resources.<\/span>

  10. Apprentice Ecologist Scholarship<\/span>
    \n<\/span><\/a>This scholarship is open to students interested in protecting wildlife and the environment. This program elevates young people into leadership roles by engaging them in environmental stewardship and conservation projects that benefit native ecosystems and local communities. Applicants should demonstrate personal initiative, leadership, and dedication in their projects.<\/span>
