One of the most important facts to keep in mind when\u00a0searching for\u00a0nursing schools in California is that California is\u00a0an enormous state,\u00a0made up of a number of differing regions. Each region has\u00a0very different geographic, climatic, and cultural traits.<\/p>\n

Northern California and Southern California are very different in these ways, but both of them have good nursing schools. You would be remiss in your search for nursing schools in California if you did not look at potential nursing schools in both regions.<\/p>\n

One thing to note\u00a0is that the different regions of California are\u00a0divided up\u00a0imprecisely. Some people define regions entirely differently than a simple divide between North and South California, especially because many of the central parts of the state have\u00a0unique cultures, different\u00a0than either North or South California.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the culture, climate, and geology of California is\u00a0often different in the west than in the east, making the divisions even harder to place successfully. But for the sake of this discussion, the main regions of significance are North and South California.<\/p>\n

Nursing schools in Northern California<\/h2>\n

Northern California has a cooler climate than the southern part of the state.\u00a0The\u00a0north\u00a0is often held to be\u00a0much more nature-oriented, with many impressive\u00a0geological features to take in, as well as diverse fauna and flora. Depending upon where you place the boundaries of Northern California, it includes the Sierra Nevada Mountains, the Central Valley, the Yosemite Valley, Sequoia National Park, and Mount Whitney, among other significant geographical features.<\/p>\n

City-wise, Northern California includes the entire San Francisco Bay Area (with cities there being San Francisco, San Jose, and Oakland), along with Sacramento, Fresno, Redding, and more.<\/p>\n

It’s also important to take into account some of the cultural differences between the regions. Northern California, particularly in the San Francisco Bay Area, is considered closer to East Coast culture than it is to stereotypical West Coast culture.<\/p>\n
