The Art Institute of California-Hollywood, a campus of Argosy University

The Art Institute of California-Hollywood, a campus of Argosy University, is one of The Art Institutes, a system of over fifty schools throughout North America dedicated to providing hands-on education in the creative and applied arts. The Art Institute of California-Hollywood offers bachelor's and associate degree programs as well as non-degree programs for students interested in pursuing career opportunities from among tomorrow's 15 million jobs in creative fields like design, fashion, media arts and culinary (based on information from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics for job growth from 2012 to 2022).

A focused education from The Art Institute of California-Hollywood can help students turn their creative energy into a powerful tool that can make a difference in the world. Students are part of a collaborative and supportive community, where experienced instructors provide the guidance and skills needed to pursue a career in the creative economy.

The Art Institute of California-Hollywood is also an important resource for creative industry leaders who value the opportunity provided students to learn by using professional-grade technology to build a portfolio of work to show potential employers after graduation.

Accreditation and Licensing

The Art Institute of California-Hollywood is located in North Hollywood's NoHo Arts District. This is a pedestrian-friendly urban village with direct access to L.A.'s subway system. Students can find a full array of amenities, including contemporary theaters, art galleries, parks, cafés and shops--it's a great environment to pursue a creative education.

The district features the largest concentration of music recording venues west of the Mississippi. The theater district has thirty-one theaters, including two new large venues that expand upon existing theaters, the NoHo Arts Center and the historic El Portal.

L.A. has more museums per capita than any other city in the world. The Los Angeles County Museum of Art is the biggest of its kind in the western U.S. There's also Getty Center, the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Santa Monica Museum of Art at Bergamot Station, and the art galleries lining Gallery Row.

Students can visit many iconic sites and attractions nearby. Cruise Sunset Boulevard and the Sunset Strip, stopping at well-known locations like the Comedy Store, the House of Blues, and Whisky A Go-Go, or drive through Beverly Hills, Pacific Palisades, and Malibu. They can take a visit to Grauman's Chinese Theater and walk the Hollywood Walk of Fame looking for the names of their favorite stars, stroll the paved paths of Venice Beach and meet some colorful characters, take a studio tour, or walk the Santa Monica Pier.

Live sports events are also abundant--the L.A. Dodgers play at beautiful Chavez Ravine, and the Angels play at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. Likewise, there are two local NHL teams--the L.A. Kings play at Staples Center while the Anaheim Ducks call Honda Center home. And both the Clippers and Lakers of the NBA play at Staples Center.

Since L.A. is home to industry giants such as Disney/Capital Cities, ABC, CBS Television City, Paramount, Columbia, and Universal Studios, it's not surprising that the majority of projected new jobs in the city are in the technological and creative areas of the entertainment field.
