Accreditation and Licensing

The Art Institute of St. Louis is located in the historic city of Saint Charles, just northwest of St. Louis on the banks of the Missouri River. It's the third-oldest city west of the Mississippi--its history is evident along Main Street and the Riverfront, with their various restaurants, shops, and businesses. The city also boasts a casino, an art center, and several popular minor-league sports teams.

Saint Charles offers small-town charm, yet is close to the big-city amenities and attractions of St. Louis, a city that's rich in culture with well-known attractions, museums and galleries, music, and performing arts venues.

The St. Louis area offers a fascinating mix of the traditional and contemporary, from one of the top-rated zoos to cultural attractions that rank among the finest in the United States. Destinations include the 630-foot-tall Gateway Arch, the famous monument to America's westward expansion, and The Delmar Loop, one of the city's entertainment, cultural, and restaurant districts, which has been named "One of the Ten Great Streets in America."

There's an abundance of great restaurants, hot nightclubs, and unique shops. Musically, there's everything from rock to jazz to hip-hop, and of course blues, the genre most closely associated with the city.

St. Louis offers plenty of opportunities to get out and enjoy nature, with more than 100 city parks, including Forest Park, one of the largest urban parks in the entire country. Another noteworthy park is the Missouri Botanical Garden, a private garden and botanical research facility and home to the Climatron.

St. Louis is a serious sports town. Busch Stadium is full of fans whenever the Cardinals are in town. The same goes for the Edward Jones Dome when the Rams play football, or the Scottrade Center for Blues hockey.

Considering the advantages of being able to enjoy small-city friendliness and historic charm while being within easy reach of a major U.S. city and all its sophistication and excitement, it's hard to come up with a better all-around spot to pursue one's creative education than at The Art Institute of St. Louis.
