University of New Haven — Success Starts Here

The University of New Haven, located in West Haven, Connecticut, is one of the country's leaders in student-first education. The University offers independent, motivated, and successful students a purposeful career-focused education that is both personal and pragmatic, empowering them to achieve excellence. By combining a strong liberal arts curriculum with real-world learning experiences such as internships, faculty-mentored research, community service and study abroad, students are fully prepared for life after graduation. A private, coeducational institution situated on an 84-acre campus, the University of New Haven has an enrollment of nearly 7,000 which includes about 1,700 graduate students as well as more than 4,700 full-time undergraduate students. Sixty-five percent of undergraduate students live in university-sponsored housing with13 different residence halls available. The University's New England campus is located about halfway between Boston and New York City, giving students access to the amenities and learning opportunities of these metropolitan areas and only five minutes from the Connecticut shoreline.

New Facilities and New Academic Programs

The University of New Haven offers over 100 bachelor's degrees and 30 master's degree programs throughout six academic colleges: the College of Business, the Henry C. Lee College of Criminal Justice and Forensic Sciences, the Tagliatela College of Engineering, the College of Arts and Sciences, the Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts, and the School of Health Sciences. Some of the most popular programs of study include biology, criminal justice, forensic science, forensic psychology, national security, fire science, engineering, genetics and biotechnology, health sciences, music and sound recording, music industry, computer science, cybersecurity & networks, marine biology, sport management, graphic design, interior design, psychology, and dental hygiene. In support of these programs and to ensure the success of its students, the University of New Haven has invested in new and updated facilities on campus. Some of these innovative and unique spaces include digital and analog recording studios, a National Crime Scene Training and Technology Center, a Crime Scene Training house, newly renovated graphic/interior design labs, a T.V. production set, a center for convergent media, a new Marine Sciences Center on historic Long Wharf in New Haven, Arson Investigation labs, a Dental Center, a new 70,000 square-foot College of Business Campus, and more. The University of New Haven also recently opened a satellite campus in Prato, Italy – only 20 minutes outside of Florence in the Tuscany region. Students are able to extend their learning opportunities overseas by joining their classmates and university faculty members on the Prato campus.
