Professor Polachek also enjoys an affiliation with the university's political science department due to the nature of his investigations.

Professor Christopher Hanes focuses on macroeconomics and economic history. A Harvard-educated researcher, his articles and book contributions explore issues such as financial crises, business cycles, and wage growth across various epochs. His main focus is American economic history, and he has served as a reviewer for several periodicals.
