USF's Master of Arts in Economics Qualifies Students for a Variety of Career Paths

Economists are in demand in every sector (public, private, non-profit, and non-governmental) of the U.S. economy and around the world. Based on recognition of this fact, USF's master's program in Economics is designed to prepare students for careers as economists and analysts in any area of the world. The program educates and trains with the quantitative and analytical skills needed for a career as an economist or at a financial institution. Completion of the master's program in Economics also qualifies students to pursue further studies in economics at the doctoral level.

"USF Is Your University -- San Francisco Is Your Campus"

USF was founded in 1855 as the first university in San Francisco and is ranked in the top tier of national universities (U.S. News & World Report, Tier 1 national university, 2016). USF is a private, Jesuit university with a distinguished history in the sciences, social sciences, humanities, arts, finance, and business management. Of the 11,019 students at USF, 39% are graduate students. USF is composed of five graduate schools -- Arts and Sciences, Management, Education, Law, and Nursing.

The university offers rigorous and innovative graduate programs with truly extraordinary faculty members -- professors who are experts in their fields and passionate about research. USF's faculty are dedicated to providing high-quality, personalized attention to their students through small class sizes.

Students enjoy the rich experiences available in San Francisco, one of the world's most vibrant, cosmopolitan and beautiful cities. As the financial, cultural and technological center of the West Coast of the U.S., the San Francisco Bay Area is one of the most economically advanced regions of the world. San Francisco's diverse population draws people from around the world, while the Pacific Ocean climate of the city is moderate all year round. Outside the city, USF students experience California's many other attractions, such as the Napa Valley wine country, the Redwood forests, Pacific beaches, the mountains surrounding Lake Tahoe, and the Big Sur Coast.

The San Francisco Bay Area Provides USF Students Access to Professional Careers

USF's College of Arts and Sciences offers a number of graduate programs in areas related to management, the sport industry, and economics. These programs particularly benefit from USF's San Francisco Bay location. In addition to its diversity, San Francisco is also a center of trade and finance, both domestic and international. Furthermore, the university is located in proximity to Silicon Valley, which is one of the nation's best-known regions for technological entrepreneurship. In addition to San Francisco's cultural attractions, students studying Sport Management have access to internships and work experience that can contribute to and enhance their educations.
