Drexel University provides comprehensive graduate-level education with a focus on application through research opportunities and practical experience. The University's programs are designed to furnish the concrete knowledge that will aid students in career advancement. Offering a wide range of full-time, part-time, and online programs, Drexel's graduate programs connect students to a campus with a graduate student body of more than 9,000, faculty members who are leaders in their fields, state-of-the-art facilities, and support and career services.

Graduate Programs

Drexel offers more than 90 master's programs, more than 35 doctoral programs, a doctor of medicine, a juris doctor, and over 60 certificate programs from 13 disciplines: arts and sciences; biomedical engineering, science, and health systems; business; computing and informatics; education; engineering; hospitality and sport management; law; media arts and design; medicine; nursing and health professions; public health; and technology and professional studies.

Drexel's College of Medicine and College of Engineering -- as well as the programs in Library and Information Studies, Computer Science, Physics, Physical Therapy, Nurse Anesthesia, Physician Assistant, and Public Health -- are ranked among the top 100 in grad schools by U.S. News and World Report.

Depending on the program, students can choose from full-time, part-time, and online options. Some courses are offered both on campus and online. The University's part-time options enable students to continue their current careers while taking classes in the evenings and even Saturdays for select degrees. Drexel's online degree programs allow students to log on and take classes anywhere at any time. U.S.News ranked Drexel's online graduate Engineering, Nursing, and Education programs among the top 50 "Best Online Programs" in the nation.

Research Strengths and Opportunities

As a world-class comprehensive research institution, Drexel is committed to use-inspired research with real-world applications, and graduate students are expected to contribute. Students assist in faculty-led research projects, as well as pursue their own. In recent years, Drexel researchers have made great strides in the fields of biomedical science, information systems development, robotics, bioterrorism response preparation, and public health, among others. The University's traditional strengths in engineering, business, information science, biotechnology, and the sciences are complemented by innovative scholarship in media arts and design, the social sciences, education, and law.

Graduate Co-op

Graduate students in select programs can take advantage of Drexel's renowned cooperative education program that combines traditional coursework with on-the-job experience. Students spend three to six months in full-time paid positions in their disciplines. They receive academic credit for their work as well as support from faculty advisers who help develop projects based on their field experiences.

Career and Support Services

The Steinbright Career Development Center (SCDC) offers career and educational counseling to all graduate students. Services provided by the SCDC include annual job fairs, career advising and planning, employment networking programs, résumé reviews, an electronic job database, and employer-directed résumé search.
