Affordable, Yet High Quality Business Degrees

Jacksonville University (JU) is located in a beautiful riverfront setting in suburban Jacksonville, across the St. Johns River from downtown and just minutes from the Atlantic Ocean. The 190-acre campus includes a riverfront, oak-lined paths, and a state-of-the art business building. JU offers 7 bachelor's degree programs and more than 70 majors, programs, and concentrations. There are graduate programs in nursing, business, education, marine science, fine arts, math, and public policy. Doctoral programs include the Doctor of Nursing Practice (D.N.P.) program, a new Doctor of Business Administration (D.B.A.) program, and a nationally known postgraduate certification in orthodontics.

The Davis College of Business (DCOB) offers both undergraduate and graduate business degrees. The college is the only private business college in North Florida that is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International. The college was recently recognized by CEO Magazine for having one of the Top 100 M.B.A. programs in North America.

More than 200 graduate students attend classes at the Davis College of Business (DCOB) and the majority of students enroll part-time.

Graduate students benefit from in-depth business instruction. Classes are taught by both Ph.D. credentialed faculty members from the world's best universities and experienced professionals who earned excellent track records in industry. The flexible graduate programs are tailored to each student's particular needs and goals.

Flexible and Accelerated MBA Programs

The Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) program at Jacksonville University was designed for all types of working professionals, both those looking for career changes, and those looking to move up within their current fields. Graduates earn promotions into senior managerial roles in their professions by incorporating their accumulated theory and practice into their respective roles as managers and leaders. Management training serves as a foundation for the both the evening (FLEX) M.B.A. and daytime (Accelerated) M.B.A. programs.

The curriculum combines accounting, decision sciences, economics, finance, information technology, international business, management, and marketing, all chosen so that students are well-equipped for management and decision-making roles in both small companies and corporations. Students choose to follow a general M.B.A. path or concentrate in 1 of 3 concentration areas: "Accounting and Finance," "Management," or "Management Accounting." More than half of the students choose to pursue 1 of the 3 concentration areas.

The FLEX program is highly adaptable to the student's career goals: students choose which courses they wish to take and how quickly they wish to complete their program. Most students are able to complete the program as part-time students in 2 years, and many complete their courses in just 4 semesters. The accelerated program is structured so that undergraduate business students starting in the fall with adequate preparation can complete the program in 2 semesters.

Executive M.B.A. Program

JU's Executive Masters of Business Administration (E.M.B.A.) is an intensive 18-month program designed to develop a leader's strategic mindset, business expertise, and creative instincts. Grounded in a compelling holistic management framework, the program recognizes that sustainable high-performance today requires attention to mind, body, and spirit. JU collaborates with the world-renowned Mayo Clinic in providing an executive health assessment and seminars to deliver Florida's only holistic E.M.B.A. The E.M.B.A. is designed for rising and mid-career executives, both in context and convenience. The curriculum is taught in a team-oriented environment where courses are integrated to emphasize broader strategic management and leadership skills.

Master of Science in Organizational Leadership

Quantitatively less intense than the M.B.A., the Master of Science in Organizational Leadership (M.S.O.L.) degree program is a 30-credit program designed for experienced professionals wanting the practical knowledge and skills for leading people engaged in innovation, change, and transformation initiatives. It is particularly appropriate for human resource, technical, or functional specialists who are preparing for greater leadership roles. It is tailored for non-business, undergraduate majors who wish to earn graduate degrees focused on management.

Doctor of Business Administration

Beginning in the fall of 2014, JU will offer a Doctor of Business Administration degree program. The doctoral program for executives at JU takes business intelligence and the art of "informed intuition" to a new level. The D.B.A. curriculum builds on the skills students have mastered professionally, while heightening their ability to be agile and fluid as managers. The JU D.B.A. program is based on the 3 pillars of "Leadership," "Globalization," and "Business Analytics." The 3 year, 60-credit DBA program, prepares candidates to scope out the best paths for data discovery, innovation, and quantitative analysis and global challenges.

Joint Program Graduate Business Degrees

There are 3 joint M.B.A. programs at JU-- the Master of Science in Nursing (M.S.N.)/M.B.A. degree program; the Master of Public Policy (M.P.P.)/M.B.A. degree program; and the Juris Doctor (J.D.)/M.B.A. degree program. The first 2 are offered wholly at JU while the J.D./M.B.A. is in conjunction with the Florida Coastal School of Law.

Four+1 Bachelors/M.B.A.

Jacksonville University offers a unique 4 year+1 Bachelor's/M.B.A. program which is designed for highly-motivated high school students with interests in any major. If qualified, students will be conditionally admitted to the Accelerated (Full-time Day) M.B.A. program when they apply to JU as high school seniors. Students who maintain at least 3.3 cumulative GPAs in their undergraduate studies are automatically accepted into the Accelerated M.B.A. program upon graduation from JU.

Career Development Center

The JU Career Development center supports all JU students and alumni, including graduate students. They provide a variety of services to help students and alumni succeed in graduate and professional school and in the world of work. These include individual career consulting and counseling, career assessments, career workshops, an annual career and internship expo, information sessions, special speakers and events, on-campus recruiting, job and internship postings, mock interviewing, resume/cover letter preparation and revision, and much more.

Financing a Business Education

Most graduate students at JU receive some type of financial aid through scholarships, loans, or assistantships. Many of the working students are supported in some part by their employers. JU is a voluntary participant in the Yellow Ribbon Program for Post-9/11 GI Bill recipients.
