Leo Baeck Institute - DAAD Fellowship

Description

Fellowships are awarded for research in New York or Germany on the social, communal, and intellectual history of German-speaking Jewry. Financial assistance is provided to doctoral students for dissertation research and to young academics for the preparation of a scholarly essay or book. Applicants must be PhD candidates or recent PhD degree holders. The degree must be awarded within the last two years. Application deadlines are May 1st and November 1st. Doctoral students must submit their official transcripts, evidence of enrollment in a PhD program, and two letters of recommendation; one by their doctoral adviser and one by another scholar familiar with their work. PhD holders must submit evidence of their degree (transcripts not required) and two letters of recommendation from two colleagues familiar with their research.
