Current AAOHN Foundation Board of Trustees, AAOHN Board of Directors and their relatives are not eligible for Scholarships. Provide opportunities to further professional education for occupational and environmental health professionals through formal academic study. For the Bachelor's Degree, the candidate must be a nurse enrolled full- or part-time in a nationally accredited school of nursing program and demonstrate an interest in, and commitment to, occupational and environmental health. Applicants must submit documentation of enrollment status. Applicants must have a current active membership with AAOHN and must have been a member of AAOHN for at least one full year. For the Graduate Degree, The candidate must be a nurse enrolled full or part-time in a graduate program that has application to occupational and environmental health and demonstrate an interest in, and commitment to, occupational and environmental health. Applicants must submit documentation of enrollment status. Applicants must have a current active membership with AAOHN and must have been a member of AAOHN for at least one full year. Submit a narrative of 500 words or less (double-spaced with 1-inch margins in 12-point font) addressing your professional goals in occupational and environmental health as well as how this education will impact your career. Submissions will be judged based on a 100-point system. Each section indicates the maximum number of points the candidate can earn based upon the content submitted. At the end of each year of scholarship participation, recipient must submit a copy of the transcripts reflecting completion of educational courses. Also required is a short report, 300 words or less, sharing an example of how knowledge learned through studies has resulted in positive impacts on worker health and safety. Reports will be published on the web site, aaohn.org, and maybe used in other AAOHN publication(s). Reports are due by December 15, 2021. Scholarship recipients are not eligible to apply for a scholarship the following year but may reapply in subsequent years, contingent upon successful completion of activity and availability of funds, up to a maximum of two additional years (three years total). This is for both the Liberty Mutual Insurance and UPS Foundation.
