Member Grants

Member Grants are awarded to female or female-identifying, professional-level WJA members in increments of $500 to be used toward professional growth. Funds for WJA Member Grants are provided by the national organization and WJA chapters around the country. We are pleased to share that proceeds from the 2020 WJA NorCal Chapter Conversations on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion will fund additional WJA member grants in 2021 specifically designated for BIPOC applicants (Black, Indigenous and/or People of Color). BIPOC WJA members from any WJA chapter are encouraged to apply for these opportunities and are eligible to be selected for all of WJA's 2021 member grants. Recipients must be members in good standing. Student-level members are NOT eligible for member grants and are encouraged to apply for WJA Scholarships. A member may only receive one member grant from the organization in a calendar year. Each qualifying WJA member may submit only one (1) grant application in a twelve-month period. All applications will be reviewed by the WJA Member Grant Committee, which includes jewelry industry representatives from all around the country. Qualified applicants will be awarded Member Grants as the result of a random drawing conducted by the WJA Member Grant Committee. Student Members of the WJA are not eligible for Member Grants and are instead encouraged to apply for WJA Student Scholarships. The Member Grant Committee reserves the right to disqualify any application that does not meet the conditions for current, paid-in-full, non-student, WJA membership, is incomplete, or is received after the submission date of January 31st. Grants will be for educational costs incurred between January 1, 2021 and December 31, 2021. Following verification and receipt of proof of payment for enrollment and/or materials purchased, grant monies will be distributed directly to the member who has been awarded the grant.
