MIA/POW Scholarship

Description

The State of Illinois provides an education scholarship for the dependents of veterans who are either Missing In Action, a Prisoner of War, died while on active duty, 100% disabled due to service connected disabilities or died as a result of a service connected disabilities. An applicant must be the spouse, widow, natural child, stepchild or adopted child of the veteran to qualify. The child must attend school prior to 26th birthday, but no age limit for spouse. Additional requirements include for the spouse and widow include Marriage Certificate. For a natural child, a birth certificate listing name of veteran. For a stepchild, birth certificate and Marriage Certificate between parent and veteran. For an adopted child, birth certificate and adoption decree.
