Comprehensive and Full-Service, Laramie County Community College Offers a Wide Range of Educational Opportunities

Laramie County Community College (LCCC) is a comprehensive, full-service college in Wyoming with campuses in Laramie and Cheyenne and outreach centers in Pine Bluffs and F. E. Warren Air Force Base. LCCC offers a wide range of educational opportunities, including career, technical, and academic programs. The coeducational school offers 564 certificates and degrees from which students may choose. These offerings include 155 Certificates of Completion, 154 Associate of Applied Science degrees, 75 Associate of Science degrees, and 180 Associate of Art degrees.

Life at LCCC Is Safe and Fun, and College Facilities Are Top Notch

LCCC's 271-acre campus in Cheyenne, comprises 22 buildings, most with enclosed walkways. Facilities are newly remodeled and feature cutting-edge classroom technology, computer labs, a state-of-the-art science complex, physical education complex, three residence halls/dormitories, and a brand new health science center.

Living on campus at LCCC is a great option for international students for many reasons. Not only is LCCC known for being a safe community, but it also offers comfortable living with high-tech amenities; fun activities and events tailored to student interests and needs; a hassle-free meal plan; around-the-clock security; an expert, friendly, and helpful staff; and convenient financial aid and payment plans. Residence halls have a professional full-time residence life coordinator, along with resident assistants. All residential staff members live onsite, so there is someone available to assist residents at any time.

Campus life includes many activities and events that are designed to help students increase their respect for diversity, achieve personal development, build new friendships, and gain academic success. Specialty housing is available; offerings include Quiet Study Housing, Substance Free Housing, and All Male or All Female Floors.

Numerous Student Services Are Available to International Students at Laramie County Community College

Student services at Laramie County Community College are extensive and are geared toward helping all LCCC students have a successful academic experience. They include financial aid, scholarship, and employment services; tutoring, testing, and counseling services; career planning centers; telecourse, Internet, day, and evening classes; placement testing and college-prep courses; ESL, career skills, and general educational development; workplace training; workforce development programs; and short courses for adults.

The ESL Program at Laramie County Community College Helps Students with Their English Skills

The English as a Second Language (ESL) Program at Laramie County Community College is designed to help international students improve their English skills so that they can succeed in an English-speaking university or college. The courses are taken for credit and are open to all skill levels of non-native English speakers. At each level, students take classes that include speaking and listening, writing, reading, and grammar. Classes are conducted in 15-week sessions during spring and fall semesters.

Classes are small, and individualized attention is provided to students via dedicated instructors. The environment is friendly and students receive assistance with immigration and academic needs from international student advisers. International students also receive personalized assistance with airport pickup, housing arrangements, and other essentials upon their arrival.

Students take the Compass placement test to place into Laramie County Community College college-level courses. If the Compass test is passed, TOEFL is not required for admission to LCCC. International students applying to Laramie County Community College's ESL program must complete an application and financial statement.

The LCCC Career Center Offers Services, Assistance, Resources, and Tools

Laramie County Community College's Career Center is designed to assist students with finding off- and on-campus employment via job listings, CollegeCentral, and job search resources. The Career Center also offers career exploration resources, occupational information, state and national labor market information, interviewing and resume tools, career fairs and events, and tools for employers. It also assists students in finding work experience that relates to their majors. All LCCC Career Center services are free to alumni, students, and community members.

LCCC and its programs are accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA); American Bar Association (ABA) Standing Committee on Legal Assistants; American Dental Association Commission on Dental Accreditation; Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP); Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JCERT); National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE); National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC); and the Wyoming State Board of Nursing.
