A Masters of Science in Management Graduate Degree Programs

Mount Ida College's graduate offerings consist of a Master of Science in Management (MSM) graduate degree program with concentrations including: Management, Interior Architecture, and Leadership in Sport.

The Master of Science in Management is an alternative to a traditional Master of Business Administration curriculum, which typically focuses on general principles of business. The innovative MSM degree program at Mount Ida allows students to focus on the specific areas of operations and management that are relevant to their career fields. Students leverage their practical experience in the classroom as they develop the knowledge and creative ability to succeed in a competitive marketplace.

Masters of Science in Management: A Comprehensive Business Management Program

The Master of Science in Management at Mount Ida College is a part-time program designed for working professionals who want to assume management positions of increased responsibility and leadership within their organizations, or develop and grow their own small businesses. The MSM program at Mount Ida offers students from business and non-business backgrounds the unique opportunity to develop management and leadership skills appropriate for many organizations.

The 36-credit program enables students to continue to work full-time and may be completed in two calendar years. Courses are offered evenings and online.

To earn the MSM degree at Mount Ida College, students are required to take seven core business courses and five electives. Core courses encompass management theory and organizations; marketing strategy and management; information technology management; financial management for data analysis; strategic planning, policy development and management; human resource strategy and management; and research methods.

MSM for Interior Architecture: A Program for Ambitious Design Professionals

The Master of Science in Management for Interior Architecture degree at Mount Ida College is a multi-dimensional program designed for professionals who want to expand their management knowledge while advancing their design skills. Whether you work independently or with a design or architectural firm, students? chances of becoming a leader in the field are significantly enhanced when they gain a solid understanding of management.

The curriculum emphasizes basic concentration competence, research and theory, technology, leadership, and information literacy. Students are exposed to cutting-edge design topics that prepare them for the selection of thesis topics.

To earn the MSM degree in Interior Architecture at Mount Ida College, students are required to take five interior architecture courses and seven management courses. Courses meet in the evenings, weekends, and online; students can complete the degree in two years.

MSM for Leadership in Sport: A Program for Advancement in the Sports Industry

Mount Ida College?s Master of Science in Management for Leadership in Sport prepares individuals for advancing roles in the sports industry. As a result of these numerous opportunities, a well-rounded business education is essential for significant responsibilities within the sports industry and/or interscholastic/collegiate settings.

The 36-credit program requires five leadership in sport courses and seven management courses for degree completion. Classes meet both in the evenings and online and can be completed in two years. Theoretical knowledge and practical experience are developed through hybrid classes, internship options and other active learning experiences in areas such as sport marketing and sponsorship, leadership and ethical management and sport, contemporary issues in sport, public relations, and financial management in sport.

Accomplished Faculty, Small Classes

Classes in the Master in Science Management program are small and students enjoy close interaction with dedicated faculty members who are leaders in their fields. Most Mount Ida College faculty members in the management program are active business and design practitioners in industry, non-profit, and government organizations. Mount Ida faculty members have a history of helping graduates connect to professional opportunities regionally and nationally.

Graduate Student Services and Resources

Most students in the Mount Ida College graduate program are working professionals engaged in a variety of industries and businesses in the Boston metropolitan area. The Office for Graduate Studies and Continuing Education develops and implements graduate student education, providing a variety of facilities and services for graduate students.

In addition to the college's extensive learning and research resources at Wadsworth Library, all students have free access to Boston's renowned Museum of Fine Arts and its library, which has more than 32,000 items and supports research on the Museum's collections, exhibits, and general art history.

Students may also choose to make use of Mount Ida's Writing and Math Center, which offers individual and group tutoring at no additional charge.

Tuition and Financial Aid at Mount Ida College

Mount Ida College offers a 10-month installment payment plan to help graduate students meet their educational expenses with no interest or finance charges. Students may pay by credit card or automatic bank payment after paying a one-time enrollment fee.

Mount Ida College also offers financial assistance through a variety of loan options and campus employment opportunities. To be considered for financial aid, students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Students who seek financial aid must be admitted to a graduate degree program before their financial aid application will be considered.
