UNC School of Government

The School of Government at UNC-Chapel Hill, the home of the M.P.A. program, is the largest university-based local government training, advisory, and research organization in the United States. More than 100 faculty members and staff members at the school work with public officials at all levels, as well as employees of nonprofit organizations, to address concerns of the public good. In 2012, "U.S. News and World Report" ranked the UNC M.P.A. program 6th nationally in the specialty area of city management and 23rd overall.

Delivered in a flexible, online environment, MPA@UNC is a graduate degree program that prepares students to be effective leaders in public service. Students benefit from the same top-ranked UNC School of Government curriculum, courses, and renowned faculty members as the full-time program students. Whether students are interested in managing and leading local, state, or federal government or nonprofit organizations, the online Master of Public Administration degree program helps to build upon existing skills and expertise.

MPA@UNC is part of the university's M.P.A. program, which is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration (NASPAA), the accreditor of public administration, public policy, and public affairs master's degree programs in the United States since 1970.
