California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) is a national leader in distance learning and was named by "Forbes" magazine as one of the top cyber universities. CSUDH offers distance learning degrees, certificates, and courses to students in all fifty states and more than sixty countries. No campus attendance is ever required for a CSUDH distance learning course.

CSUDH offers master's degrees in humanities, business administration (M.B.A.), public administration (M.P.A.), negotiation/conflict resolution and peacekeeping, quality assurance, and nursing. Bachelor's degrees are available in applied studies, nursing, and quality assurance. Academic certificates can be earned in assistive technology, community college teaching, green technology, home inspection, medical billing/coding, paralegal studies, production/inventory control, purchasing, quality assurance, sport/fitness psychology, and technical writing. In addition, individual courses are available in arts/culture, business, communications, education, information technology, management, OSHA, and test preparation.

CSUDH Helps Set the Standards for Distance Learning Excellence and Technology

Founded in 1960, CSUDH is part of the California State University (CSU) system, and has the largest distance learning program in the system, with more than 4,000 students enrolled worldwide. The university offered its first distance learning degree in 1974, and in 1995 offered the first online master's degree ever approved by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.

Campus Attendance is Not a Distance Learning Requirement at CSUDH

Bachelor's and Master's Programs Are Available Through Distance Learning

CSUDH distance learning degree programs include:

Master of Arts Negotiation, Conflict Resolution, and Peacebuilding - The valuable skills and knowledge gained in the program may be applied to police work, counseling, human resources management, labor relations, supervision, administration, alternative dispute resolution, arbitration, public policy, social work, teaching, intercultural and community conflicts, corporate contracts, and purchasing.

Master of Arts Humanities - The program provides an interdisciplinary approach to the disciplines of the humanities -- history, literature, philosophy, music, and art -- with an emphasis on their interrelating effects and influences.

Master of Business Administration - Students in the program gain a solid qualification in business management through a wide range of courses that cover essential areas of knowledge and skills required in today's competitive business environment.

Master of Public Administration - The program provides a high-quality graduate professional education for individuals entering or currently employed in public service and nonprofit professions.

Bachelor/Master of Science Nursing -- The bachelor's completion program prepares graduates to function as leaders, managers, and resource people in a variety of health-care settings. The graduate program prepares professional nurses for advanced and specialized practice.

A Wide Variety of Academic Certificate Programs Are Available through Distance Learning at CSUDH

Academic certificate distance learning programs at CSUDH include:

Assistive Technology Certificate - The program prepares students for compliance with state and federal laws requiring school personnel to offer assistive technology services to disabled people. It is useful to educational administrators, teachers, special education teachers, occupational and physical therapists, speech and language specialists, rehabilitation specialists, program specialists, resource specialists, and psychologists.

Community College Teaching Certificate - The program is designed to enhance the skills and employability of potential community college instructors.

Home Inspection Certificate of Completion - Developed in conjunction with American Home Inspectors Training Institute, the program teaches students how to perform a comprehensive, professional home inspection and produce a professional home inspection report.

Medical Billing and Coding Certificates of Completion - CSUDH offers several medical billing certificates of completion, including the Administrative Medical Specialist, Advanced Coding for the Physician's Office, Advanced Hospital Coding and CCS Prep, Medical Billing and Coding, and Medical Transcription certificates.

Paralegal Certificate of Completion - The program trains paralegals to assist trial attorneys, interview witnesses, investigate complex fact patterns, research the law, and assist in preparing cases for courtroom litigation. Instruction is practice-oriented and relates to those areas of the law in which legal assistants are most in demand.

Production and Inventory Control Certificate - Students are provided with a broad education in the principles of production and inventory control.

Purchasing Certificate - This program provides a broad education in the principles of procurement management. The program also helps students prepare for the Certified Purchasing Manager exam.
