Harding University is a private liberal arts university located in Searcy, Arkansas, about an hour from Little Rock, Arkansas, and 2 hours from Memphis, Tennessee. The campus is home to more than 4,500 students from across the U.S. and more than 50 nations and territories. Affiliated with the churches of Christ, Harding encourages lives of excellence through faith-filled living and learning. Ranked a top value school for 2019 by Money magazine, Wall Street Journal and The Princeton Review, the University is committed to offering a world-class education taught from a Christian perspective. 

The 350-acre campus includes 14 residence halls, 6 apartment complexes, athletic stadiums, a world-class recreation center, a performing arts center, health and student centers, and academic colleges and facilities.

Wide-Ranging Academic Programs and Schools of Learning

Harding University offers a wide range of degrees in both liberal arts and professional studies. The university offers 10 undergraduate degrees in over 100 academic majors, including new degrees in cybersecurity, event management, English and business communication, and foreign language and missions.

Harding University offers 14 pre professional programs in pre-agriculture, pre-architecture, pre-dentistry, pre-engineering, pre-law, pre-library science, pre-medical technology, pre-medicine, pre-optometry, pre-pharmacy, pre-physical therapy, and pre-veterinary medicine.

Harding University is home to 10 colleges: Allied Health, Arts and Humanities, Bible and Ministry, Business Administration, Education, Nursing, Pharmacy, Sciences, Honors College and University College.

Harding also provides more than 50 graduate and professional programs, including new master’s programs in kinesiology, professional nursing, student affairs, and strength and conditioning, as well as new graduate certificates in counseling skills, healthcare management, project management and more.

The University also offers several accelerated dual degree programs in the health sciences, Bible and ministry, and business. A dual degree program allows students to earn both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in a condensed period of time.

American Studies Institute

Harding’s nationally recognized American Studies Institute was developed to train students for leadership in business, public life and education. Programs include observations tours, seminars and lectures by visiting leaders in industry, business, education and government.

Student Life

Harding University provides a Christian social community with many cultural opportunities for students through music, drama, art, lectures and special events. More than 120 student organizations are active on campus including social organizations, professional associations, political parties, bands and orchestras, athletic clubs, language clubs, and Christian organizations.


Harding University is a member of the Great American Conference and NCAA Division II. Men's sports include baseball, basketball, cross-country, football, golf, soccer, tennis, and track. Women's sports include basketball, cheerleading, cross-country, golf, soccer, softball, tennis, track, and volleyball.

Study Abroad Opportunities

Harding offers semester-long international programs in Zambia, Australia, England, Chile, Greece, and Italy. Additionally, the University offers numerous short-term study abroad opportunities in locations including France, Italy, Greece, Spain, Germany, Morocco, Austria, Iceland, and the United Kingdom.

The Center for World Missions

The Center for World Missions, part of the University’s College of Bible and Ministry, provides opportunities for mission internships for those interested in full-time mission work after graduation and short-term mission trips through the Global Outreach program.

Financial Aid At Harding University

More than 90% of the student body at Harding University receive financial aid. Approximately $60 million streams in from federal, state and private sources annually. Academic scholarships at Harding include National Merit Scholarships, Trustee Scholarships, which cover the full amount of tuition, the Academic Achievement Scholarships that cover up to about half of tuition, and Transfer Student Scholarships. Harding also offers need-based grants and tuition discounts to Christian college employees, Christian ministers and missionaries, orphans, and others. Harding also offers special scholarships such as the Scouting Scholarship, awarded to full-time students who have earned the rank Gold Award (Girl Scouts of the USA), the Stars and Stripes Award (American Heritage Girls), Eagle (Boy Scouts of America), Silver Award (Venturing), or Quartermaster Award (Sea Scouts).

Future Careers

Each year recruiters representing more than 200 organizations visit campuses looking for potential employees. Harding graduates have found prominent positions with Dell, Ford Motor Company, HCA Healthcare, PwC, Walmart, and Make-A-Wish Foundation among other national and international companies.
