Accreditation and Licensing

Deep in the heart of Texas, there's a city that blends many cultures, is rich in history, and is pointed in one direction: up. San Antonio, one of the 10 largest cities in the United States, is located in the south-central part of the state. Famous for its Spanish missions, The Alamo, The San Antonio River Walk, and the Tower of the Americas, San Antonio has more than 25 million visitors each year.

San Antonio is also home to three military bases as well as several museums, parks, Fortune 500 companies, universities, and colleges. Southwest American history, culture, the arts, and a lively nightlife are all part of the experience for students at The Art Institute of San Antonio, which is located just to the north of the city's downtown area.

The city's arts communities, such as Blue Star Arts Complex in Southtown, offer many galleries along with live music, and the Guadalupe Cultural Art Center, on the city's west side is a vibrant area that offers a true San Antonio experience. In addition, there are great collections of authentic folk art, artifacts, and handmade creations. Students can visit Market Square during Fiesta and feast on tacos and gorditas.

The San Antonio area offers the opportunity to enjoy the thrills at any of five theme parks, explore subterranean caves, visit a dude ranch, stroll the cobblestone paths of the River Walk, dine al fresco at the bistros and cafes that line the river, or explore the city's spacious urban park system--68 miles of trails stretching across 11,000 acres. The annual San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo is one of the largest events of its kind in the country.

For those interested in professional sports, the NBA's San Antonio Spurs play their home games at the AT&T Center.
