Focus of faculty research:	Ion channels in arterial smooth muscle and their impact on arterial function; characterizing the communication between the developing fetus and the utero-placental unit; viral diseases that affect domestic and wild animals and spillover into human populations; the proopiomelanocortin neurons in the arcuate nucleus of the hypothalamus; neurotransmitter release in Central Nervous System Disease
