The School of Information Studies (iSchool) is the original information school in the nation. At the iSchool the focus is on users and user information needs as a starting point for integrating information and information technology into organizations. The university's interdisciplinary philosophy means that students from any academic or professional background have the opportunity to thrive in their program. Their faculty includes professors who are top researchers in their field, and professors of practice who bring a wealth of knowledge from practical experience in the field of IT. Master's In Applied Data Science Degree Program
The MS in Applied Data Science prepares students with the practical analytical and technical skills to apply analytical concepts to gain insight from small and large datasets. The curriculum offers an innovative blend of information science and management principles. While the overall program focuses on applications of data science to enterprise operations and processes, individual courses tackle data handling issues such as data capture, management, analysis, and communication for decision-making.

The MS in Applied Data Science is a fully interdisciplinary degree and is offered in collaboration with Syracuse University's Whitman School of Management. This degree is built for those who have either a strong background or a strong interest in the applications of data science to solve problems for organizations.
The iSchool believes in teaching students the skills they need to be successful on the job market. The MS in Applied Data Science directly addresses the need for data science and problem-solving skills in business and academia, and ADS graduates enter the job search with a portfolio demonstrating their applied data science expertise.

In addition to getting practical and on-the-job experience, the iSchool has an incredible number of opportunities for students to join a research lab or collaborate with faculty on their academic work. Faculty of One
The Syracuse University iSchool doesn't have traditional academic departments like most schools. Instead, the school has a united faculty body with diverse research and academic interests that is committed to teaching all iSchool students. With access to 50+ full time faculty, iSchool students have the freedom to explore and study all corners of the information field.
The iSchool has a dedicated Employer Relations and Career Services team to help students prepare for careers in the information field and to connect students with internships and full-time employment
The iSchool offers merit awards to aid students in pursuing graduate degrees in Information Management ranging from graduate. Merit based aid includes endowed awards, graduate assistantships, and Europe/Eurasia Scholarships.
