An Acclaimed School for Business Leaders

The Naveen Jindal School of Management offers a variety of nationally recognized and highly ranked graduate programs in business, including Full-Time, Professional (Part-Time), Executive and online MBA Programs. The Jindal School also offers the Professional Program in Accounting, which allows students to complete their undergrad and M.S. in Accounting degree in just five years while providing extra preparation and support for the CPA exams. New academic specializations in professional sales, real estate and risk management offer additional avenues for students to explore.

In addition, the Jindal School houses more than 30 student organizations ranging from industry-specific clubs to service organizations. Scholarships and in-state tuition, along with the campus' guaranteed tuition plan, help make getting a degree at UT Dallas a financially sound investment as well.

Full-Time M.B.A. - The Right Choice to Sharpen Business Skills

The 16-month Full-Time M.B.A. generally seeks students who have 3-15 years of work experience and who want to complete an accelerated, intensive study experience to ramp up their skills. This selective program, ranked No. 14 (tied) nationwide among public universities, offers students 13 areas of concentration, more than 100 electives, an international study trip, mentor programs, case competitions and visits to area corporations. Generous scholarships are available. Classes start each August.

Business Leaders Energize Their Careers with Executive M.B.A.s

The Jindal School offers an Executive M.B.A. and a Global Leadership Executive M.B.A. Designed for managers and senior leaders with significant work experience and accomplishments, the degree plans help these professionals move themselves and their companies to the top tier of performance. The Executive M.B.A. is a traditional weekend program and includes an international study trip; Global Leadership focuses on international aspects of business and its largely online format allows those with heavy travel demands to still earn an M.B.A. Other executive degrees also are available. Executive students work individually with a career coach, take part in projects at local companies and, depending upon the program, earn additional certifications.

Other M.B.A. Options

The Professional (Part-Time) M.B.A. allows students, typically those already working full time, to complete their degree at their own pace - usually over three years. This program is ranked No. 19 (tied) nationwide among all similar programs at public universities.

The Online M.B.A. can be completed entirely via the virtual classroom. Students in the Professional M.B.A. program often take some classes online. This program has the same admission requirements, faculty and core curriculum as the MBAs earned through traditional campus-based MBAs at UT Dallas. Faculty who teach in the classroom teach their same courses online. This program is ranked No. 6 among Best Online M.B.A. Programs.

Master's Degrees at Jindal School of Management

A 36-hour master's degree helps many aspiring business leaders advance their careers. The Jindal School offers 12 master of science degrees in some of the most sought-after fields. Many of these degrees (such as master's in accounting, information technology and management and supply chain management) can be earned either largely or completely online. For those attending class on campus, master's level classes are offered in the evening and year-round to accommodate working students.

Master's degrees are offered, in addition to the three mentioned above, in business analytics, energy management, finance, healthcare management, innovation and entrepreneurship, international management studies, systems engineering and management, management and administrative sciences and marketing. In addition, students in any of these programs can complete the internal audit certificate at the Jindal School, one of the two best audit programs in the nation and one of the five best in the world. Internal auditors are sought in all areas of industry, commerce, government and nonprofit work. Many of these degrees (finance and accounting for instance) prepare students to take additional certification exams.

Executive Certification Programs

The Jindal School's Executive Education area offers certificate courses in 10 areas such as product lifecycle, healthcare management for physicians, Managing Projects Across Borders (TM) and executive coaching. Many of these certificate programs can be completed completely online.

Certificate programs are generally short and hands-on, such as the Lean Six Sigma course in which participants earn a Lean Six Sigma yellow, green or black belt within a seven- to 17-day program.

Doctoral Students Conduct Industry-Relevant Research

The Jindal School offers doctoral programs, each with several areas of concentration. In both cases, doctoral students will develop strong analytical and empirical skills; take part in interdisciplinary coursework and research; integrate theory with practice; and work closely with senior faculty.

The Ph.D. in Management Science trains students to conduct rigorous scientific research across multiple fields of study. To complete this degree, students develop new research using tools from price theory, game theory, stochastic processes, simulation, mathematical programming, econometrics and more.

The Ph.D. in International Management Studies degree prepares students to conduct interdisciplinary research involving international management, organization theory, corporate strategy and organizational behavior. Most students in this program, upon completion, pursue academic careers.

Doctoral students travel to major conferences with their sponsoring professor, have access to some of the leading researchers in the field today and go on to academic positions at highly regarded business schools around the world.

Faculty Achievements in Research

Jindal School faculty are ranked No. 11 overall in North America and No. 12 worldwide based on research contributions to major journals in 2010-2014. Many award-winning faculty do research at the Jindal School, including Mike Peng, professor of global strategy, working under a National Science Foundation career grant; and John McCracken, who, along with professors at UT Southwestern Medical School, will use an $8.4 million federal grant to provide technical assistance to healthcare providers as they move to electronic medical records.

Financial Aid and Scholarships

Jindal School students should consult with financial aid advisers on campus to ensure they take advantage of all scholarships and grants available to them, either through the Jindal School or through The University of Texas at Dallas. In addition, U.S. military veterans may consult with the campus' financial aid officer who assists veterans in securing their GI Bill or Hazlewood Act benefits. Most Jindal School students receive some level of tuition support which could also include work-study programs or teaching assistant (TA) positions for master's level students.

Finding the Right Career

The Jindal School operates a Career Management Center in the building specifically to help students secure relevant internships and, upon graduation, full-time employment. The Dallas area is a diverse business community with many opportunities for graduates in virtually every job sector - from manufacturing to transportation to high tech communications to government and nonprofit organizations. In addition, students may access the campus' Career Center, which also holds job fairs, seminars on networking and resume writing and other topics of interest to those seeking full-time employment. Alumni, regardless of graduation year, can also seek job placement assistance through the Jindal School's Career Management Center. The Dallas area is home to such globally recognized companies as ExxonMobil, JCPenney, Texas Instruments and Southwest Airlines.

Extracurricular Activities

Students' activities are limited only by their time and imaginations. Jindal School students - whether undergrads, master's or M.B.A. - take part in activities across campus and in the school. The campus has an active intramural program as well as arts and theater programs that hold open auditions. Many students take part in service projects on campus, such as the University's community garden and the Dean's Council within the Jindal School. Other students are very involved with case competitions in the finance, M.B.A., information technology management and accounting programs. These student teams, under the guidance of faculty advisers, regularly compete at the national level.
