Biotechnology Management and Entrepreneurship

The Katz School at Yeshiva University offers a Master of Science (MS) in Biotechnology Management and Entrepreneurship (BME) program that enhances students' backgrounds in science or technology while adding the business skills needed to launch, commercialize, and manage biotechnology products and services.

Between CRISPR, GMOs, and new prosthetics, advances in biotechnology are evolving at an ever-increasing rate. The BME program at Katz is looking for ambitious and passionate students to be on the forefront of commercializing these new advances.

Students may do an internship for course credit with approval from their faculty advisor.

International students will be eligible for Optional Practical Training (OPT).

Why Biotech Management and Entrepreneurship?

Katz developed the Biotechnology Management and Entrepreneurship (BME) master's program in response to the need to fill the gap between scientists developing new biotechnology products and business professionals who need to understand the products to commercialize them. BME graduates will have the unique skill set to understand both the scientific and technical sides of products, as well as how to launch and manage them in the market.

The program's curriculum includes these required courses:

- "Applications of Biotechnology"
- "Biotechnology Management"
- "Foundations of Biotechnology"
- "Intellectual Property, Regulation, and Compliance for Biotechnology"
- "Pharmacology Product Development and Commercialization"
- "Capstone in Biotechnology Management and Entrepreneurship"

It also includes a variety of elective courses to choose from:

- "Finance for Startups and Entrepreneurial Ventures"

Costs for entering the MS in Biotechnology Management and Entrepreneurship program at Yeshiva University include tuition and fees. All applicants are automatically considered for scholarships and graduate assistantships. Awards are determined during the application review process. Katz encourages students to apply early as application and funding decisions are made on a rolling (i.e. first come, first served) basis.
