The George Washington University (GW), located in
Washington DC, places the University at the core of US government, policy, and
law. GW students and faculty have the unparalleled opportunity to study and
work alongside leaders and practitioners in every discipline, to take part in
the interchanges that shape the community and the world.
As one of the nation's first major universities to launch
online programs, GW provides students from all backgrounds — and all locations
around the world — with the highest quality online educational opportunities.
GW strives to provide an environment where
knowledge is created and acquired and where creative endeavors seek to enrich
the experiences of the global society. With 10 schools and colleges and nearly
100 research centers and institutes, students receive hands-on experience as
they explore nearly any avenue of personal interest.
The depth and breadth of GW's academic programs,
the exceptional qualifications of full-time faculty, the unmatched experiences
of adjunct faculty, and the strengths of GW's research initiatives allow
students, faculty, and staff to look at the world beyond the classroom. They
allow GW to prepare the next generation of leaders.
Online Student Experience
At the start of their
online program, students will be assigned an academic advisor who is here to
support their journey with the George Washington University (GW). They will be
here to answer any questions and to assist students from start to finish,
scheduling classes and addressing any other needs along the way.
During a virtual
new student orientation course, students will learn what to expect on a daily
basis and how to interact with the online learning platform used for all
GW's online programs are designed to give students the
flexibility to accomplish their work on their own time, wherever is most
convenient, without interfering with their other professional commitments. That
means students can maintain balance with their current job, while applying
lessons and adding value to their role.
