The ACI Foundation MENA Student Excellence Award will be awarded to students who demonstrate a significant commitment to research and study in the cement and concrete field and who show a strong motivation to contribute to the advancement of the concrete industry as demonstrated by internships, work experience, or extracurricular involvement in concrete related organizations. Applicants must attend a college or university in the Gulf Cooperation Council region, such as Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, or Tunisia. Applicants must be a student enrolled in a concrete-related degree during the award cycle, which is the fall through spring semester of the standard academic year. They must also be proficient in the English language. If English is not the applicant's native language, they can upload a copy of their TOEFL score to their application. This is optional and not required. Applicants must also submit two endorsements that show their suitability to receive an award. One endorsement must be from an ACI member. Endorsers cannot be students or family members. Finalists must then attend the spring ACI Concrete Convention for their in-person interview.
