The ADEA/Haleon Preventive Dentistry Scholarships support predoctoral dental students who have demonstrated academic excellence in preventive dentistry. Applicants must be enrolled as a student in an accredited predoctoral dental program in the United States or Canada, having completed at least one year of the program. They must demonstrate, through personal activities and achievements, a strong interest in preventive dentistry. Applicants must also possess a superior academic record. They must be nominated by the dean of their dental school or the dean's designate (no more than three nominations are accepted from each school). Applicants must also be an ADEA Individual Member. Applicants must submit a letter from the dean describing the applicant's academic record, achievements and activities (research, community service and program development) in preventive dentistry that have gone beyond those required of all students for graduation.
